Postdoctoral Fellowships

Our Simons Targeted Research Group expects to appoint multiple Postdoctoral Fellows across its participating institutions, with positions beginning in July 2027.

We strongly encourage candidates to apply to every position that is of interest. Applying to more than one institution in no way counts against you and is the surest way to be considered across the collaboration and to find the group whose research direction best matches your own.

The Non-Equilibrium Frontier studies quantum matter driven far from equilibrium: systems that are continuously driven, measured, and open to their environment, producing forms of order with no counterpart at rest. Our work spans four directions: the mathematical foundations of quantum dynamics, the classification of intrinsically dynamical phases of matter, fault-tolerant quantum computation understood as a non-equilibrium phase of matter in its own right, and the nature of complexity in evolving quantum systems. Fellows will be expected to develop their own research within this landscape while drawing on the full network of participating groups.

Beyond their host institution, Fellows will benefit from the combined activity of the collaboration: regular meetings, schools, and visitor exchanges, which connect the groups into a single research programme. Cross-institutional collaboration will be actively encouraged.
